In the modern information age, it still baffles me that people would choose to hide things. I understand if you don’t want someone to know that you had a pregnancy scare, but hiding medical things that could be prayed over or for which someone should know about so that you’re taken care of as far as treatment and final preparations (if necessary) doesn’t make sense to me.
For example, I know three women who had the same type of surgery on their ovaries. Yes, they had fibroid tumors, and had surgery to remove them. Two of them hid it from others and one was just openly honest about what surgery she was going to have, how it went, and how many they actually removed which was about double the amount they saw on the scans.
I can use Google and Wikipedia to look up information about fibroid tumors. I can use WebMd to determine how bad having them are and what is done to remove them. However, I seemingly cannot get a straight answer out of loved ones when they say they’re having surgery but won’t say why. “Female issues” is not a satisfactory answer. Maybe a bit of me is nosy, but I am concerned if I love you.
Does this make sense to anyone besides me?
